InForm, a blog run by Cupid Intimates, recently published an article on manufacturing lawful, ethical and responsible apparels. The article, titled “Want Intimates Made Responsibly? Let’s WRAP“, pointed out WRAP certification is becoming a benchmark for retailers and consumers as they seek and purchase socially and environmentally compliant products.
One of the biggest international trade shows for the entire apparel supply chain, Sourcing at MAGIC, also recognized the necessity of introducing social responsible products to buyers and consumers. Since August 2009, the event management team has set aside an area for a WRAP pavilion at the show for WRAP-certified factories to exhibit their socially and environmentally compliant products. These certified factories are from around the world, but under the WRAP pavilion, they have one same goal: to let more buyers and consumers know their products were made under legal, ethical and humane conditions.
Being socially responsible can mean more businesses. Certified factories that have participated the pavilion appraised it as “a great opportunity to meet big buyers”. One of the certified factories even received a one-million piece order on site.
Besides Sourcing at MAGIC, WRAP also exhibited its socially and environmentally compliant products at the Outdoor Retailer Winter/Summer Market to bring CSR awareness to the outdoor apparel industry.
