The New Facilities’ Handbook: Everything You Need to Know

| জানু. 9, 2020 | BY WRAP

The Facilities’ Handbook is an important tool for all facilities (new, renew, lapsed) who have questions about the WRAP program. It serves as a set of guidelines to help facilities understand the program and complete a successful audit process. As the Handbook is not up to date with WRAP’s current policies and procedures, we, the Compliance Department, recognized it was vital to issue a new version, to be released in Spring 2020.

We wanted to create an ongoing Handbook that would be an accurate reflection of WRAP’s requirements for certification, including all updates that were not in the previous version. This way, WRAP can communicate any new policy changes directly with facilities.

Before we started working on the Handbook, we asked our regional staff and auditors for their input and recommendations based on their interactions with all facility personnel. All feedback was considered and applied to the latest version.

The main purpose of the Handbook remains to provide facilities with all necessary information (Registration → Audits → Certification) to become WRAP certified. In addition, we’ve added an interactive table of contents, along with visual aids and appendices, for facilities to easily navigate the document. Major updates include: WRAP’s new Certification Management Platform, Pre-Audit Self-Assessment (PASA), Working Hours Action Plan (WHAP), Post-Certification Assessment (PCA), Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV), grievance mechanisms, country-specific issues, etc.

Our hope is that once the final Handbook is released, facilities will take advantage of this wonderful resource in order to gain a better understanding of what it means to be a WRAP certified facility. The Compliance Department will continue to be the main point of contact for facilities with questions regarding the audit and certification processes.
