As part of WRAP’s 10th Anniversary celebration, WRAP organized one of the most important information sharing conferences on sustainability and corporate social responsibility in Fort Lauderdale, Florida from November 18 to19, 2010.
Titled „The Good, the Great, and the Excellent: A Tour of World-Class Practices in Sustainability, CSR and More,“ the two-day event featured sessions with senior executives who have implemented programs and technologies that improve business processes but still promote social and environmental responsibility.
Speakers and attendees from all over the world discussed various CSR and sustainability issues that the industry is facing today and shared experiences on improving production and efficiency through CSR management to achieve sustainable development. The topics included using web for CSR communications, CSR at the facility and customer level, community engagement, employee education and training, and sustainable fuels, etc. Many participants have expressed their satisfaction towards the two-day conference.
Mr. Charles Masten, Chairman of WRAP, gave an opening remark at the conference.
One of the participants, Mr. Richard Tretler, is Senior Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer of ITOCHU Prominent USA LLC. He commented, „The November conference allowed me to get a fast update on what is happening, learn about innovative programs and find new contacts both inside and outside WRAP.“ He also praised WRAP for its dedication to lawful, ethical and humane manufacturing, „The organization is to be congratulated for being out there, setting the standards for outreach, certifications and expectations and making a name for WRAP around the world. Since those small beginnings, WRAP has come a long way.“
