Organization (ILO),<\/a>\u00a0around\u00a050 million people\u00a0worldwide\u00a0are\u00a0ensnared in modern-day slavery\u00a0as of 2021, and around 138 million children are forced into child labor\u00a0as\u00a0of 2024.\u00a0June 12 is World Day Against Child Labor,\u00a0shedding light on the people behind the numbers.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"appear-on-scroll\">Around a quarter of those imprisoned in modern day slavery are children, forced into dangerous situations.&nbsp;Modern day slavery comes in many forms, including but not limited to:&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<ul  class=\"appear-on-scroll wp-block-list\" >\n<li>Debt bondage (in which a person&nbsp;is manipulated through a debt)&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul  class=\"appear-on-scroll wp-block-list\" >\n<li>Human trafficking&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul  class=\"appear-on-scroll wp-block-list\" >\n<li>C\u01b0\u1ee1ng b\u1ee9c lao \u0111\u1ed9ng&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul  class=\"appear-on-scroll wp-block-list\" >\n<li>Domestic&nbsp;servitude&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul  class=\"appear-on-scroll wp-block-list\" >\n<li>Child&nbsp;exploitation&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"appear-on-scroll\">WRAP&nbsp;is&nbsp;the&nbsp;world\u2019s&nbsp;largest facility-based&nbsp;social&nbsp;audit&nbsp;and certification program.&nbsp;Our program is&nbsp;guided by&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/wrapcompliance.org\/vi\/about\/12-principles\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">12 nguy\u00ean t\u1eafc c\u1ee7a WRAP<\/a>,&nbsp;which&nbsp;a facility&nbsp;must&nbsp;comply with&nbsp;to&nbsp;receive&nbsp;certification.&nbsp;Certification requires proof of compliance, not&nbsp;merely&nbsp;\u2018absence\u2019 of non-compliance&nbsp;and&nbsp;ensures that any facility&nbsp;that is&nbsp;WRAP-certified&nbsp;is in&nbsp;alignment&nbsp;with&nbsp;all&nbsp;ILO indicators&nbsp;of&nbsp;forced labor.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"appear-on-scroll\">Principle&nbsp;3:&nbsp;Prohibition of Child Labor&nbsp;of&nbsp;WRAP\u2019s&nbsp;12 Principles&nbsp;explicitly&nbsp;protects&nbsp;against any form of child labor&nbsp;and&nbsp;states that&nbsp;certified&nbsp;facilities&nbsp;cannot hire anyone under&nbsp;the age of&nbsp;15, with 14&nbsp;years old&nbsp;being the minimum in lesser-developed&nbsp;countries.&nbsp;It also&nbsp;bars off&nbsp;employment that interferes&nbsp;with&nbsp;required schooling&nbsp;and&nbsp;mandates&nbsp;compliance&nbsp;with&nbsp;legal restrictions on&nbsp;the nature&nbsp;and the volume of work&nbsp;conducted.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"appear-on-scroll\">Of&nbsp;the&nbsp;28&nbsp;non-compliances&nbsp;found under&nbsp;Principle 3&nbsp;in 2025&nbsp;around the world,&nbsp;not one involved a child working in a facility.&nbsp;Instead,&nbsp;these&nbsp;non-compliances&nbsp;relate&nbsp;to&nbsp;weakness in&nbsp;a&nbsp;facility\u2019s&nbsp;prevention&nbsp;system, including:&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<ul  class=\"appear-on-scroll wp-block-list\" >\n<li>Inadequate policy communication &amp; training gaps;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul  class=\"appear-on-scroll wp-block-list\" >\n<li>Lack of age verification breakdowns; and,&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul  class=\"appear-on-scroll wp-block-list\" >\n<li>Shortfalls in&nbsp;young-worker&nbsp;protections for legally&nbsp;employed&nbsp;16\u201317-year-olds.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"appear-on-scroll\">Each facility&nbsp;certified&nbsp;had&nbsp;non-compliances&nbsp;corrected through WRAP&#8217;s Corrective Action Plan&nbsp;process&nbsp;which allows facilities to&nbsp;remedy non-compliances and&nbsp;implement the&nbsp;proper systems&nbsp;to prevent&nbsp;potential infractions.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"appear-on-scroll\">World&nbsp;Day Against Child Labor is&nbsp;an&nbsp;annual&nbsp;reminder&nbsp;that keeping children out of&nbsp;the global&nbsp;supply&nbsp;chains is not a one-time achievement but&nbsp;an act of&nbsp;constant&nbsp;vigilance.&nbsp;That&nbsp;is why&nbsp;WRAP&nbsp;goes beyond&nbsp;a&nbsp;simple audit&nbsp;to work&nbsp;with facilities&nbsp;to&nbsp;ensure they have the&nbsp;process and systems
