Staff Profile: Kamrun Nahar

“In a country where the compliance landscape is constantly under global scrutiny from brands, buyers, and the media, my role involves upholding the credibility of Bangladesh’s garment sector. I work closely with WRAP-accredited monitors and factories to ensure they understand and implement WRAP’s guidelines effectively. Since I joined, I’ve seen WRAP expand its global footprint and adopt more efficient auditing tools. I’ve also noticed a growing commitment to continuous improvement and collaboration across teams. I’ve also seen a deeper awareness among manufacturers about the importance of ethical practices and worker well-being. Factories are becoming more proactive in adopting WRAP’s principles, and workers are increasingly empowered to understand their rights.

One of the most meaningful parts of my journey at WRAP has been the personal growth I’ve experienced alongside my professional development. I started my career in an administrative role, and over the years, I’ve grown with WRAP — not just in title, but in confidence, perspective, and purpose. What continues to inspire me is the people: the warmth, kindness, and professionalism of my colleagues. I’ve had the opportunity to learn from many wonderful individuals, some of whom have moved on, while others remain valued teammates to this day.

Throughout my time at WRAP, I’ve gone through several deeply personal milestones — the loss of my father, my mother’s illness, my marriage, and two complicated pregnancies. During these times, WRAP was more than just a workplace. It was a source of genuine emotional support and understanding. My colleagues and leadership gave me the space and compassion I needed to heal, and for that, I am truly grateful. This support has strengthened my bond with WRAP and motivates me to give back with even more dedication. I feel proud to contribute to an organization that not only stands for strong values professionally but also lives them internally.”
