In light of the February 1, 2021 coup in Myanmar (otherwise known as Burma), the American Apparel & Footwear Association (AAFA) has published guidance for members sourcing from Myanmar. We urge buyers to take steps to ensure workers’ rights are protected, including union members, and to ensure the full and timely payments of workers during this uncertain time. Please consult not only with your suppliers but also with local and international civil society organizations, when possible.
