On November 6, a landmark moment unfolded in Taiwan as Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production (WRAP) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Taiwan Bicycle Association (TBA) and the Bicycling Alliance for Sustainability (BAS).

A Shared Commitment to Ethical and Sustainable Manufacturing

The MoU reflects a shared vision among the three parties to promote safe, lawful, ethical, and humane working conditions across Taiwan’s bicycle and bicycle accessory manufacturing ecosystem. TBA, a socio-professional organization representing over 400 member facilities, and BAS, a sustainability-focused alliance driving carbon reduction and green innovation in the bicycle sector, have committed to integrating WRAP’s globally recognized certification standards into their operations.

Các lĩnh vực hợp tác chính

The MoU outlines several pillars of cooperation:

  1. Information Sharing: The Parties will regularly exchange updates on policies, practices, and standards related to social responsibility, including WRAP’s audit and certification protocols.
  2. Training & Capacity Building: WRAP will provide training and technical support to TBA and BAS member businesses, helping them understand and implement social compliance standards. This includes workshops, seminars, and tailored guidance for factory managers and compliance officers.
  3. Promotion & Outreach: Joint events—such as conferences, awareness campaigns, and certification ceremonies—will be organized to encourage member facilities to pursue WRAP certification and elevate industry-wide standards.

A New Chapter for WRAP

This strategic partnership not only represents a solemn commitment from TBA and BAS to ensure safe, lawful, ethical, and humane production practices, it marks a significant expansion of WRAP’s social compliance efforts beyond its traditional sewn products sector.

“This collaboration is a powerful example of how industry leaders can come together to drive meaningful change. We’re proud to support Taiwan’s bicycle manufacturers in their journey toward responsible production.” Avedis Seferian, Chủ tịch kiêm Tổng giám đốc điều hành của WRAP
